The truffle ceremony

A truffle ceremony is a ceremony in which magic truffles containing psilocybin (Psilocin) are used as a sacrament or spiritual aid. The truffle ceremony is often led by an experienced facilitator or master of ceremonies who guides participants through the experience and helps them gain the most valuable insights. Most insights are gained if everyone finds the peace to turn inward.

No truffle ceremony is the same and depends on the location, group and supervisors. In most cases, participants are asked to prepare for the truffle ceremony.

The experiences one can have during a truffle ceremony can vary from person to person, but may include altered perception of time and space, heightened emotions, increased creativity and gaining insights into oneself and the world.

What creates spirituality?

Self-awareness, the ego, often causes us to feel separation. This is often seen as the opposite of spirituality. Self-awareness, or the cognition of one's own existence, is a complex and largely ununderstood process that is regulated by various brain areas. However, there are a number of brain areas that are associated with a sense of self:

  • The prefrontal cortex: These brain areas are associated with carrying out cognitive tasks such as planning, decision-making, and processing social information. This area also plays a role in processing information about ourselves, our thoughts, and our emotions.
  • The parietal cortex: These brain areas are associated with processing sensory information, such as the position of our body in space. This area also plays a role in integrating information about our body with information about our environment.
  • The insula: These brain areas are associated with processing interoceptive information, such as heart rate, breathing, and pain. This area also plays a role in processing emotions and awareness of our body.
  • The temporal cortex: These brain regions are associated with processing language, memory, and other cognitive tasks. This area also plays a role in processing social information and awareness of ourselves and others.
  • The posterior cingulate cortex: This area plays a role in processing interoceptive information, such as pain and heart rate, and the awareness of our body.
  • The temporal parietal junction: This area plays a role in processing language, memory, and awareness of ourselves and others.
  • The precuneus: This area plays a role in processing information about ourselves, such as our personal thoughts and emotions and the awareness of our body.
Brain psilocybin -Spiritual truffle ceremony

During a high intake of psilocybin, a number of the above areas will receive less energy and other areas in the brain will take over tasks. This reduces the sense of self and separation from the rest of the world, resulting in a greater sense of connection with everything that comes in through the senses. Furthermore, time does not seem to exist and words are often inadequate to explain the experience. A feeling of oneness is often seen as a spiritual experience. Others often mention a mystical experience. Watch the video below where a lot of it corresponds to a spiritual experience.

Spiritual truffle ceremonies in trip therapy

If customers choose to do an individual truffle session with spirituality as a reason, we also provide additional tips in the preparation, such as watching videos related to the subject. We also give these tips for truffle ceremonies for groups with the theme of spirituality. A video we often recommend is Samadhi and the illusion of the ego. This video can help give the truffle ceremony a spiritual twist. We also combine music, aromatherapy and passion flower to make the truffle ceremony more spiritual.
