What is the subconscious mind?

The subconscious mind is a collection of all processes that take place in the brain that consciousness does not perceive. So just about anything that isn't thought of, but works. Think of your unconscious reflexes, learned patterns and innate behavior.

Why does the subconscious determine the quality of my life?

The subconscious mind sends signals to the conscious brain without the conscious brain realizing it. Through these signals, the subconscious directs the conscious mind to make certain choices. Often the choice has already been made before you can consciously think about it. In that case everything seems to happen automatically. People with depression and/or anxiety often have a hidden fear hidden in the subconscious. This fear does not have to have anything to do with the current reality, but the subconscious can still send signals to the conscious mind.

Veritasium's explanation of subconscious mind

Veritasium explains in an easily understandable way how the conscious and subconscious brain work together via the video below.

Communicating with the subconscious

Almost everyone connects with the subconscious every time they dream. During dreams, a substance called DMT is released, which is produced by the pineal gland.

Pineal Gland -Your subconscious mind determines the quality of your life
The pineal gland produces DMT and is also called the third eye

DMT is very similar to serotonin and can therefore bind to the same receptors in the brain. Once a lot serotonin receptors in the brain are stimulated by DMT, especially in the frontal lobe, the brain goes into a state of hyperconnectivity. This state of hyperconnectivity is called dreaming while sleeping and tripping while awake. While dreaming, you can communicate well with the subconscious. This can result in strange dreams or dreams that cause you to process things you have recently experienced.

Being awake and dreaming at the same time

There are various techniques that ensure that your body “thinks” that it is sleeping and this causes the pineal gland to produce more DMT. We call this tripping. Being in a dream state or a state of hyper-connectivity during the day can have many benefits. This state of being is useful for exploring the subconscious while being consciously present, rather than dreaming. While tripping you can clearly see where your fears lie and it is often realized that those fears are not realistic at all. This new knowledge is then processed and old (negative) patterns are changed.

Subconscious mind changing methods

There are methods that can help, such as hypnotherapy, EMDR, deep meditation and breathing therapy.

Because psychedelic substances can achieve a much higher state of hyper-connectivity than via the above-mentioned substances, where the body can only provide a limited state of hyper-connectivity, we do our trip therapy with psilocybin. This methodology works best for depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.

The effect of psilocybin is very similar to the body's own serotonin which also has an anti-depressant effect. The effect of psilocybin also ensures a state of hyperconnectivity in the safest way of all psychedelics.

You can find more information about this here how psilocybin works.
