Establishment of Trip Therapy

Triptherapie was founded in 2018 door Marcel van der Putten, driven by a powerful personal and scientific motivation. The reason for its establishment lay in his conviction that psychedelics, and particularly magic truffles containing psilocybin, can play a key role in mental health recovery, provided they are used in a responsible and well-supervised manner.

Marcelle's background in (bio)chemistry, his passion for psychology, nutrition and wellbeing, and his own transformative experiences with psychedelics came together in a holistic vision. He saw that existing therapies often fell short for persistent conditions such as depression, anxiety or trauma. Therefore, he wanted to offer an alternative that did not merely focus on symptom management, but instead worked on deeper levels of consciousness, neurochemistry and attitude to life.

Triptherapie was founded with the aim of making psychedelic sessions accessible in a safe, professional and personal way. Since then, we combine the psychedelic sessions with lifestyle coaching and neurochemical support, but also with integration guidance.

This all-in-one concept makes it unique in the Netherlands.

Since its inception, Triptherapie has grown into the market leader in the field of psychedelic journeys with a therapeutic character. With more than 3,500 guided sessions by name, we have firmly established ourselves as the most experienced and versatile platform within this fast-growing branch of psychedelic sessions.

Our strength lies in the professionalisation of psychedelic guidance, With safety, care, and depth at the forefront. In recent years, we have not only been able to support thousands of clients in their personal process, but we have also expanded our team with several certified therapists, psychologists, and SPV’ers. Through these qualities, we were able to help a wider group of people.

With this growth, we remain true to our mission: deploying psychedelics safely, professionally and transformatively as a catalyst for lasting change.

If you want a better understanding of our working method, the Triptherapie video is highly recommended to watch. The short film you can see here shows some experienced counsellors and includes two in-depth client stories.

In the video, clients speak candidly about their transformative experiences with psychedelic therapy. Curious about what it can do for you? Complete the intake and you will receive a response soon.

What connects us is a shared mission: guiding profound, safe and healing psychedelic experiences focused on personal growth, trauma integration, the alleviation of psychological distress and the rediscovery of a sense of purpose.

Within our multidisciplinary team you will find certified psychologists and therapists who are trained both internally and externally to work with psychedelics. Thanks to their background in psychology, body-oriented therapy and systemic work, they are exceptionally well equipped to intervene therapeutically where necessary during a programme involving psychedelic sessions. They frequently guide clients struggling with, for example, depression, anxiety, trauma or low self-esteem.

Our trip counselors specialize in guiding deep psychedelic processes, which is an added benefit especially during the high-dose sessions with hallucinogenic psychedelics. They create the tranquility and confidence needed to let go.

We also work behind the scenes with GPs, therapists and psychiatrists who are open to this innovative method. These partnerships ensure that, in complex cases – such as those involving medication use or a history of psychiatric conditions – we can consult with medical professionals to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of a session.
