Because of my father's work, I lived in different parts of the world for a large part of my youth, born in Zambia, then moving to England, then to Hong Kong and by the time I was twelve to the Netherlands. Growing up as a global citizen has given me a lot; rich memories of all the different smells, colours, tastes, languages and cultures, and all the respect and love for these differences, but it has also cost me. Only years later did I understand and feel that.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Even as a child, I really enjoyed caring for and helping others, and studying psychology was a wonderful fit for that. After having had several jobs, I started at the police force as a selection psychologist. I soon decided that I wanted to work as a uniformed manager myself. After having worked on the streets and as a manager for over 10 years, I returned to my original field and became an (occupational) psychologist with the police. With my street experience, I was able to support and guide police officers and gained a lot of experience in how stress and trauma arise and how they can be addressed. Unfortunately, I also saw how mainstream care can sometimes fall woefully short, and that is how my desire arose to work as an independent psychologist, utilising all sorts of alternative treatments. Eventually, after 22 years with the police, I became self-employed in 2022.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

I am trained as a (trauma-sensitive) yoga teacher, meditation and mindfulness teacher, breathwork coach, and as a facilitator of Kundalini NRGY sessions. As a therapist, I have specialised in EMDR and Brainspotting (the \u2018little sister\u2019 of EMDR), trauma-sensitive heart coherence training (Heartmath), aromatherapy and Aromatouch (doTERRA), among other things. Furthermore, in my practice I also offer ear reflexology and ear acupuncture. It is a wide range of different, complementary treatments that activate and strengthen the human self-healing capacity and can provide relief for the ailments that life can bring.<\/p>

Since 2023 I have been a care volunteer in a hospice and I get a lot of fulfilment from lovingly \u2018being there\u2019 for people in their final phase of life and their loved ones. The work in the hospice has taught me a lot and this gained experience also helps me when guiding psychedelic sessions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Based on the digital intake form, an action plan will be created consisting of personal lifestyle advice, based on your intention(s). Prior to the session, I will contact you to introduce ourselves and discuss what you can expect, what you want to work on and how I can support you with that. We will also be in touch after the session.<\/p>

At the beginning of the session we start by talking, like in talk therapy. Then we can do relaxation and\/or breathing exercises to help you sink deeper into the experience and surrender to it. After ingestion, the conversation falls silent and we let the experience unfold as it unfolds. Healing music will be played throughout the trip and I will be quietly present with you. Everything to give space to your process and allow the valuable insights to emerge. When you begin to become sober(er) again, the conversation can slowly start up again and we can look together at what your psychedelic experience can mean for you. Only when you are ready will we wrap up. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed and always in consultation with and tailored to you.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Since my student days, I have experienced periods of gloom and loneliness in my life. Despite them helping me temporarily, I developed increasing resistance to antidepressants and talk therapy. As I learned more about alternative approaches such as bodywork and energy work, I came into contact with people who greatly benefited from ayahuasca and psilocybin sessions<\/a>.
My first ayahuasca session was literally a gamechanger. I experienced a deep connection with myself and with the world around me. As I write this, I realise that I have never felt lonely since\u2026 Since then, I have undergone ayahuasca, voyahuasca and psilocybin (magic mushroom and truffle) sessions and I followed a year-long training course to be able to safely and properly facilitate sessions myself.<\/p>

The insights I gained about my pain, my own capacity to heal and my self-love were mind-blowing and completely transformative. I stepped back into the Light. I wish this for everyone and, with these insights as a foundation, I will always use and shape my sessions accordingly. All my work is always trauma-sensitive and compassionate.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

I work in an area that covers a large part of South Holland and a small part of the province of Zeeland. I apply a maximum travel time for a one-way journey of 45 minutes. For home sessions, I travel from my current place of residence, Maassluis, with travel expenses of 50 cents per driven kilometre charged to and from the postcode 3142 CA<\/a>.<\/p>
