Long-lasting suspicion and negative feelings can also be considered a bad trip. In our opinion, a bad trip is not a psychedelic session that may initially be uncomfortable or frightening, but which can later provide valuable information and insights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-a89b3969 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background has-medium-font-size has-custom-font-size wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/triptherapie.nl\/en\/bad-trip-support-prevention-negative-experiences\/\" style=\"border-radius:5px;background-color:#b20091\">Prevent bad trips<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"wat-zorgt-voor-een-bad-trip\">What makes for a bad trip?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Several factors can contribute to a bad trip, and these factors often relate to intention, expectations, and location (set and setting). Furthermore, certain mental health conditions significantly increase the risk of a bad trip and can worsen the condition. Good preparation can also significantly improve the psychedelic experience. One study has already shown that elevated glutamate levels in the hippocampus could be an indicator of a bad trip.
