From Schiphol Airport (AMS), the quickest public transit is by train. NS Intercity trains run hourly from Schiphol to Schiedam Centrum (approx. 48 min travel). You can tap in/out with OV-chipkaart or any contactless card (OVpay) on Dutch trains. At Schiedam Centrum station, transfer to local transit to reach the Loft.
Train: Board the NS Intercity at Schiphol Airport to Schiedam Centrum (direct service, ~48 min).
Local Connection: At Schiedam Centrum, take RET Metro Line C one stop toward De Akkers and get off at Parkweg (station). OVpay (contactless) works here too.
Walk: From Parkweg station walk ~3–4 min (262 m) northwest to Noordvestsingel 77. Alternatively, you can walk directly from Schiedam Centrum (~15 min) or take Tram 11 toward Harreweg and get off near Noordvestsingel.
Total transit time is roughly 55–60 minutes. See Google Maps directions for this route. (As always, add a margin for train schedules or transfers.) OVpay is accepted on all these trains and metros. A taxi/Uber is quicker but costly (Schiphol→Schiedam taxi ~42 min, €190–230).
From Rotterdam The Hague Airport, take RET public transit. One fast option is RET Bus 33 + NS train: take Bus 33 from “Rotterdam Airport (Meijersplein)” to Rotterdam Centraal, then an NS Sprinter to Schiedam Centrum. Alternatively, for all-RET travel take Metro Line E from Meijersplein (Airport) to Beurs, then Metro Line C one stop to Parkweg. Both routes take about 30–40 min (including transfers) and allow OVpay.
Bus+Train: Take RET Bus 33 (direction Rotterdam CS) from Rotterdam Airport to Rotterdam Centraal, then transfer to the NS Sprinter toward Schiedam Centrum. (Total ~30–35 min.)
Metro: Alternatively, walk to Meijersplein (adjacent to airport), take RET Metro E to Beurs, then Metro C one stop to Parkweg (total ~40 min).
Walk: From Parkweg station, walk ~4 min to Noordvestsingel 77. (From Schiedam Centrum it’s ~15 min on foot.)
Transit time is roughly 30–45 minutes. For example, see Google Maps route. Again, OVpay works on these services. Taking an taxi/Uber is quicker (about 9 min) but costs more (~€25–30).
Drive via the Dutch highways A4/A13/A20. From Amsterdam, take the A4 toward The Hague, then the A13 toward Rotterdam. Follow signs for Vlaardingen/Schiedam (exit A20). This route is about 73 km and takes roughly 55 min in normal traffic. From Rotterdam Airport, the drive is only ~6.5 km (~15 min).
Google Maps: For precise directions, see Google Maps driving route.
Parking: On Noordvestsingel itself parking is free on the Psychedelic Loft side of the street. If no spot is available, head to Noordvestsingel 59 or Paulus Buysstraat 14 (nearby residential streets) – both have free parking and are only ~2 min walk to Noordvestsingel 77. (On the other side of Noordvestsingel 77 is paid parking, so avoid that.)
Taxi/Uber: Local taxis/ride-shares can be convenient but pricey. For reference, a taxi from RTM to Schiedam is ~9 min (€25–30), while from Schiphol it’s ~42 min (€140–230).
You can easily reach Schiedam via Schiedam Centrum using high-speed international trains, then transfer to local transit. OVpay works on the Dutch train segment.
Brussels (Belgium): Take a Thalys/Eurostar from Brussels Zuid/Midi to Rotterdam Centraal (fastest trip ~1h30). Then take the NS Sprinter (4 min) to Schiedam Centrum or RET Metro C one stop to Parkweg (then ~4 min walk).
Paris (France): Take Thalys from Paris Gare du Nord to Rotterdam Centraal (~2h22). Then proceed as above (local train or metro to Schiedam). Total ~2½–3 h.
Berlin (Germany): Take an ICE/IC train from Berlin Hbf to Amsterdam Centraal (fastest ~6–7 h), then NS Intercity (~40 min) to Rotterdam Centraal. From Rotterdam, local train to Schiedam Centrum. Altogether about 7–8 h.
From Schiedam Centrum, continue via RET Metro Line C one stop to Parkweg (2 min walk to Noordvestsingel). As an example, Google Maps can plot a Paris→Schiedam route.
Summary: Public transit (openbaar vervoer) in the Netherlands accepts OV-chipkaart/contactless cards (OVpay). All train and metro journeys described use this system. If you prefer door-to-door travel, taxis/Ubers are available in all cases but significantly more expensive than transit.
