MDMA and psilocybin are drugs?
As of July 1, 2023, the status of psilocybin and MDMA will change from illegal drugs to medicines in Australia. This will pave the way for more research and therapy with these substances. Australia is the first country to do so and is therefore taking the lead. This will give people with depression, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD a better chance of living a fulfilling life.
Unfortunately, the Netherlands is slow to adopt this approach, but fortunately, we are already permitted to work with psilocybin in the Netherlands without interruption through the use of magic truffles. In that respect, Australia isn't the first country to permit psilocybin therapy, but they are the first to classify psilocybin as a medicine. MDMA therapy has always been possible in the Netherlands as well, albeit with a legal MDMA analogue.
