My friend may want to try space cakes with me the day before or after the psychedelic session with psilocybin. Would that be safe or not recommended?
It’s generally not recommended to try spacecake either the day before or immediately after a psychedelic session, especially if your goal is therapeutic clarity, integration, or emotional grounding.
Here’s why:
1. Day before:
Even a small amount of cannabis in edible form (like spacecake) can have long-lasting effects — sometimes lingering into the next day. This can interfere with the emotional openness, clarity, and neurochemical balance that are crucial for a deep and safe psilocybin session. Cannabis may dull or distort your perception, increase anxiety, or make it harder to fully connect with the psilocybin experience.
2. Day after:
The 24–72 hours after a psilocybin truffle session are essential for integration — understanding, emotionally processing, and grounding what you experienced. Cannabis during this time can blur that process, suppress insights, or even lead to emotional confusion. You want your mind and nervous system to remain as clear and balanced as possible during this reflective phase.
If you're really set on trying spacecake, it's best to wait at least several days after your session — ideally after your integration feels complete and you're emotionally stable again. Likewise, avoid cannabis for at least 48 hours before your psychedelic trip for best results. And if you really want to do the spacecake and the time is limited, for example a short visit to the Netherlands, it's better to eat it after the trip and not before due to crosstolerance en emotianal stability during the trip.
