MDMA group sessions
The MDMA ceremony
In our MDMA ceremonies, you participate as one of a maximum of five participants. You prepare for this session individually, applying the personalized advice we provide. On the day of the ceremony, we'll be a group for the first one to two hours, and you can talk about yourself and your goals. Once the MDMA (analog) begins to take effect (45 minutes after ingestion), we'll have a silent phase of two to three hours where the music will take you on a loving, introspective journey. After this phase, we'll transition back to connecting, and there's time to share your experiences and feelings with the group and/or the facilitators.
The role of music
Music plays an important role during MDMA sessions. Just like with psilocybin and LSD sessions, the MDMA ceremony creates space for introspection. We call this the introspective phase, and we encourage everyone to use it for about two to three hours during MDMA group sessions. During the MDMA ceremony, you will be guided primarily by the music during introspection to places in your memory, thoughts, and especially to positive feelings/emotions. For most people, it is a loving journey within.
The positive effects of the MDMA ceremony
The first effects will occur approximately 45 minutes after taking the MDMA analog we offer. During this initial phase, you may experience some resistance to the effects of MDMA, which can manifest as shakiness and perceived temperature fluctuations. After acclimation, the positive effects emerge, characterized primarily by positive feelings and a sense of connection. The effects listed below are the most valuable for these sessions.
Improved mood
Feelings of happiness, euphoria, and contentment are relatively common when using MDMA. If you talk about your trauma or PTSD triggers during this contentment phase, the brain stores it differently. This might seem a bit strange to the brain, as you feel content and safe while talking about your trauma. You can also be gently exposed to your anxiety triggers while still in this safe state. Over time, the brain will connect the triggers with the positive state you're in. Exposure therapy works very well under the influence of MDMA because the triggers no longer immediately result in an anxious state.
Less ego
With a diminished sense of self, topics seem more connected because you're less likely to distinguish between yourself and the world around you. In this state, it can feel as if it's about someone other than yourself. These thoughts create space for honest self-reflection without the familiar emotional blockage. This fosters openness, which can be a significant advantage for processing the past, as well as for talk therapy, self-exploration, and personal growth.
Increased empathy
Letting go of trauma sometimes involves forgiving both the perpetrator and the victim. The victim needs to forgive themselves for the situation they were in, and this also requires empathy for themselves. Forgiving the perpetrator can also aid in the process. By empathizing with the perpetrator without the self-protection of the ego, forgiveness is often an easier process.
New insights
When using most psychedelics, the brain functions differently than usual. New insights and connections can be discovered. Of course, there's no way to predict how this will unfold. An added benefit of these kinds of sessions is that curiosity is rewarded, and people often remain curious about themselves, others, and the world long after the session.
