What can we do against Corona?
Prevention, building immunity, and increasing the chance of recovery are currently the best options for overcoming COVID-19. This way, we can protect and support the protective cell membranes that are supposed to keep viruses out of our cells. Blocking viral RNA from entering the cell and preventing virus replication by boosting the immune system offers protection against the deadly inflammatory responses the virus can trigger in the lungs.

Is Corona really dangerous?
We can't yet accurately calculate how dangerous COVID-19 actually is. What we can see, however, is that the virus is fatal in a group of people whose immune systems are compromised. But COVID-19 can also be fatal in a smaller group of relatively healthy people. Generally speaking, the elderly and less healthy people have an increased risk of fatality. This is usually related to pre-existing inflammation and damaged cell membranes.
These are conditions where Corona has an increased impact on health and therefore these are the risk groups.
- Respiratory diseases (COPD, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, etc.)
- Allergic persons (pollen, mold, etc.)
- Bowel disorders
- Autoimmune diseases
- Fibromyalgia
- Neurodegenerative disease (ALS, Parkinson's, etc.)
- Cancer
- Biotoxin diseases
- Lyme disease
- Heavy metal poisoning
- Chronic viral infections
- Obesity
- Cardiovascular diseases

Preventing contamination
Preventing infection currently seems to be only possible temporarily, unless you isolate yourself on a deserted island permanently. By delaying infection, you increase the chance that a medication will become available that could help you. These are the practical things you can do to reduce the risk of infection.
- Wash hands and wrists regularly
- Don't go to places with people unnecessarily
- Do not apply products to your body that may cause inflammation or allergic reactions.
- Do not use perfumed products such as deodorants and detergents
- Do not eat any of the known allergens
- Wear the correct face masks in public situations
- Quit smoking and avoid breathing polluted air
- Breathe through the nose and clean it with a non-irritating rinse after contact with potentially infected air

Prevent inflammation
We must prevent inflammation to protect our immune systems from the threat of the coronavirus. Several sources can cause inflammation. Stress also indirectly causes additional inflammation. Therefore, avoid all forms of stress. Below is an overview of things you should avoid now to protect your immune system.

Food to protect against Corona
By eating the right foods, we can support our immune system. It's crucial to avoid foods that promote inflammation. You should absolutely avoid any food you're allergic to, especially now. The foods you can eat actually have anti-inflammatory effects. The following diet is called "the anti-depression diet," but it's especially effective for preventing inflammation so that our weakened immune systems can better handle the coronavirus.

Mushrooms against Corona
We often talk about magic mushrooms containing psilocybin, but this time it's about the edible shiitake mushroom. Shiitake mushrooms contain beta-glucans, including AHCC, which increase the amount of interferon-gamma in the lungs. Interferon-gamma is an inflammatory protein that activates the immune system in a way that inhibits viral infection but protects the membranes/cells in the lungs. AHCC activates the immune system's natural killer cells, natural killer T-cells, and gamma-delta T-cells, making us better prepared for a potential infection.
Although the effect of AHCC on COVID-19 has not yet been studied, supplementation with AHCC during infections with several viruses similar to COVID-19 has been shown to be effective in reducing mortality in laboratory animals and humans. Animal studies have shown AHCC to be effective against these viruses.
- Influenza virus
- HPV virus
- Bird flu virus
- Herpesvirus
- West Nile virus

What else can you do?
The following vitamins, minerals, or supplements can be especially helpful. The more you can add to your daily intake, the better. Follow the supplement labels and, if necessary, seek professional advice.

Aromatherapy against viruses
The essential oils you diffuse into the air reach the mucous membranes and lungs when inhaled. This is where the medicinal effects can take place, after which the body absorbs the substances and releases them elsewhere. Since COVID-19 threatens the respiratory tract, aromatherapy can offer a solution because it initially has a local effect. However, be careful not to damage the lungs with too much foreign material and never to trigger allergic reactions (especially not with a COVID-19 infection).
The following essential oils have antiviral properties.
- Lemon
- Eucalyptus
- Clove
- Tea tree
- Thyme
Nature saves us!
Even though we as humans aren't very kind to our environment, the Earth, and nature, nature does contain many resources that can save us. We've elevated the economy, and the associated population growth and consumption, to the most important issue in the world. This growth-based economic policy will always be at the expense of the Earth and is directly or indirectly the cause of all our problems, including the coronavirus. During these difficult times, let's also consider the consequences of our actions. Have gratitude and respect for nature. We need nature more than you think. Let's find a little more balance!
