Guidance on MDMA use

As MDMA and its analogues are illegal in the Netherlands, we at Triptherapie can only offer facilitation under certain conditions. We do not supply or sell MDMA or any other illegal substances. However, there are two ways in which we can still facilitate sessions in which the (similar) effects of MDMA can be utilised. The two options are set out below.

Guidance on self-administration of a medicinal product

When a client chooses to independently use a substance that has an MDMA-like or other psychoactive effect, we can, under certain conditions, offer guidance in the form of tripsitting and harm reduction.

The product is not supplied, sold or recommended by Triptherapie. The client bears full responsibility for the product, including the legal status, origin, composition, any test results and personal use. Our role is limited to guiding, creating a safe setting, identifying potential risks and offering support during and after the experience.

Prior to the guidance, we assess the personal situation, expectations, potential risks and relevant contra-indications, among other things, through the intake.Β

Guidance using a legal natural remedy

A second possibility is guidance with a legally available natural remedy with a milder psychoactive or entactogenic effect. An example of this is kanna (Sceletium tortuosum).

Kanna works pharmacologically differently from MDMA, but can produce a number of overlapping subjective effects in some people, such as relaxation, social connection, improved mood and an increased sensitivity to emotional experiences. The effects are generally considerably milder and less pronounced than those of MDMA. Therefore, this can be seen as a more accessible, natural option, but not as a direct replacement for MDMA.

Besides Kanna, there are several alternatives we can consider based on the intake.
