Psilocybin therapy is truffle therapy
Here in the Netherlands it is psilocybin therapy Actually, truffle therapy, since psilocybin is still illegal, but truffles containing psilocybin are not. If we really want to be accurate, it's not even psilocybin that causes the psychedelic effect, but psilocin.

After psilocybin is converted into psilocin, this psychedelic develops its hallucinogenic effects. Psilocin also closely resembles serotonin and exhibits activity on many of the same serotonergic receptors. Many of the therapeutic applications of psilocybin/psilocin are aimed at conditions involving low serotonin levels. Higher doses of psilocybin can also contribute to the formation of new nerve connections in the brain, which can (partially) treat neurodegenerative disorders.
Ongoing research into psilocybin
The number of studies on psilocybin has been increasing for years, even though it's not a patented drug. This fact clearly demonstrates psilocybin's enormous potential. Current studies are using psilocybin for:
- Alcoholism (AUD, alcohol use disorder)
- Smoking addiction
- Opioid addiction
- Major depression (depressive disorder Major)
- Treatment-resistant depression
- Anxiety complaints
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Body Dysmorphic Disorders (BDD)
- Anorexia
- Alzheimer
- Parkinson
- Migraine
- Cluster headaches

The results are promising
The results of the pilots and the already completed studies are promising and effective. The research being conducted focuses solely on the effects of psilocybin. We use psilocybin sessions in combination with lifestyle coaching to address health on multiple levels simultaneously. Here at trip therapy, we can only provide anecdotal evidence about the effectiveness of our psilocybin sessions. We achieve good results primarily with psilocybin treatments for depression. We also work with addictions, burnout, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

More research on psilocybin
Much more research into psilocybin is still to come. Some currently theorized medicinal effects of psilocybin include the following interesting topics:
- Psilocybin to wake up coma patients
- Psilocybin against autism and Asperger's
- Psilocybin for ADD and ADHD
- Psilocybin against MS
Undergoing a psilocybin session
Do you also want a psilocybin session What to do? Preparation is crucial, and it's important to consider why you want to have a session. It's also wise to improve the existing neurochemistry in the brain so that the session runs more smoothly and has a greater impact. Furthermore, dosage plays a significant role. For people with anxiety, lower dosages are often used than in other sessions. Would you like a personalized plan for neurochemistry, preparation, and follow-up?
