MS and tripping on psilocybin
Yesterday I accompanied a psychedelic trip for a Londoner with MS. This gentleman's past has not been easy for him and that of course affects this person. The aim of the trip was to accept the past and live more in the now. A life without fears can also help people with various diseases. Fear is a catalyst for many disorders.
What is MS or multiple sclerosis?
MS is an autoimmune condition in which the nerve cells of the brain and spinal cord are destroyed by macrophages. The result of this is that communication from the brain to other areas will be more difficult. Controlling muscles therefore also becomes more difficult. There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding MS. We do not yet know the exact cause.
What can help prevent MS?
The next thing I'm going to write is still hypothetical at this point. If you assume that MS is a reaction of the body to clean up damaged cells, then it could be that if you ensure that there is less damage, there will be less reaction from the immune system. Less inflammation also means less work for the macrophages. Inflammation can be drastically reduced with a lifestyle change. The image below shows the things we should avoid to reduce inflammation.
Vitamin D against MS
The chance of someone getting MS is smallest around the equator. This may have to do with hours of sunshine and therefore with the formation of vitamin D. Moderate exposure to the sun could just help. Taking vitamin D supplements or moderate tanning can also help.
Diet against MS
A diet can do so much good. We have previously given diet tips against stress and depression. The same diet can also help against MS because it helps in three areas. First, this diet reduces inflammation in the intestines and other locations in the body. Secondly, this indirectly reduces stress. Less stress and cortisol promote body recovery, which is desperately needed in MS. Third, this diet increases serotonin and therefore releases BDNF.

BDNF may play a key role in the fight against MS
BDNF stands for Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor and is a hormone (protein) that stimulates nerve cell repair and the production of new nerve cells. In MS, BDNF can therefore play a key role in the repair of damaged areas. Perhaps the increased concentration of BDNF can repair the body faster than the immune system can break it down. If you could combine this technique with a healthy lifestyle and therefore fewer inflammatory reactions, this could be very helpful.

Psychedelics against MS
The highest possible stimulation of the 5HT2a receptor to release BDNF is the use of psychedelics. So these are really mind-altering drugs (English for medication). Psilocin from magic mushrooms, DMT from ayahuasca or LSD stimulates the 5HT2a receptor in such a way that the concentration of BDNF also increases considerably. This combination ensures neurogenesis, which means creating new neurons at an unprecedented level.
We believe in the beneficial effects of mushrooms and magic truffles
Whether magic mushrooms and increasing BDNF can help cure MS remains to be proven. In any case, it sounds very plausible to me that progress can be made with these techniques. To the question of whether magic mushrooms can help cure MS, we can currently only answer that we think it helps.
What do you think?
Do you have MS yourself? How do you think it came about? Have you experienced a history of high stress and anxiety? Does vitamin D and little sunlight play a role in you? Do you think our trip therapy can help? Let us know!
