Relationship therapy with MDMA or psilocybin

Relationship therapy

Psychedelic relationship therapy for couples

Couples therapy using MDMA or psilocybin is a relatively unknown therapy for helping couples overcome emotional blocks and improve communication. Through the use of these psychoactive substances under the guidance of experienced therapists, couples can safely and effectively reach deeper levels of emotional connection.

Why Psychedelic Relationship Therapy Works

Psychedelic couples therapy can be effective for several reasons. First, psychedelics can foster a deeper connection between partners by expanding consciousness and enhancing feelings of empathy, love, and connection. This can lead to a deeper understanding of each other's needs, desires, and emotions. This can then improve communication and intimacy in the relationship.

In addition, psychedelics can help process personal emotional blocks and traumas that can affect the relationship. During a psychedelic session, repressed emotions can surface, giving partners the space to express and process these emotions. This can lead to greater emotional openness and connection within the relationship.

To have a better relationship with others, a good relationship with yourself is paramount. In psychedelic relationship therapy, it's recommended not to focus too much on the relationship and the therapy itself during the first session.

The recommended structure

Two psychedelic sessions for personal growth and connection with your partner. Ideally, there should be about four weeks between the first and second sessions.

Session 1: Personal Growth

The first session focuses on personal growth and a deeper connection with yourself. During the first session, we prefer to focus on introspection and individual therapy. This session can be conducted with MDMA or psilocybin. We prefer to conduct this psilocybin session at a location where partners cannot influence each other, such as our location in Schiedam or a multi-room facility.

The benefits of the 1st session:

  • Working on your own trauma/problems
  • Better insight into your own needs
  • More self-acceptance
  • Good basis for relationship therapy

Session 2: Deeper Connection

The second session is intended to foster greater connection and openness between partners. This second psychedelic session is preferably conducted with MDMA and focuses more on interpersonal relationships than on personal introspection. Separate rooms are not necessary for this session.

The benefits of the 2nd session:

  • More empathy
  • Better communication
  • Deeper emotional bond
  • Improved intimacy
  • More openness

Learn more about psychedelic therapy

In psychedelic-based relationship therapy, psilocybin or MDMA are primarily used. These two substances have the greatest potential for improving relationships and are also frequently used for depression, trauma, PTSD, addiction, and other conditions. To understand why these substances can be beneficial during psychedelic relationship therapy, it might be helpful to read about what psychedelic therapy can mean for you personally. We provide an overview here.

Psilocybin

Psilocybin therapy

Psilocybin therapy is known to be effective for depression and various anxiety disorders. At higher doses, it can become an introspective experience with spiritual or mystical effects that are difficult to explain. The therapeutic effects are less about verbal or cognitive processing, but about processing at the experiential level.

MDMA

MDMA structure

MDMA is known to reduce anxiety and thus various blockages, preventing memory from being inhibited and allowing for active trauma processing. MDMA therapy can resemble exposure therapy while eliminating the stress response. This facilitates processing emotions and traumatic experiences.

Book a relationship therapy using psychedelics

The first step to using our services is for all participants to complete the intake form. This is a non-binding form in which we ask about goals, medical information, and a neurotransmitter test. Based on the completed intake form, we will perform a check. After completing the intake, you will receive a message from us indicating whether we have found any contraindications. Booking a session can be done by one main booker by first selecting a supervisor. A quick overview of available dates can be found via the button.
