What is a truffle tour?
A truffle journey is an inner journey initiated by ingesting magic truffles. These truffles contain substances that cause hallucinations, such as psilocybin and psilocin. The hallucination is similar to dreaming with a "wakeful mind," but if you lie down and pretend to go to sleep, you'll soon notice that the truffles take you on a journey. We call this journey the truffle journey, inner journey, tripping, or introspection.
The technical side of the truffle journey lies in the field of neurochemistry. You can read more about how psilocybin, the substance found in truffles, is converted into psilocin and its subsequent effects in the brain via the button below.
The inner journey on truffles
What happens once the truffle journey begins? It's difficult for those who have never experienced a psychedelic trip to explain what happens at the peak of the trip, but let's start at the beginning.
What happens once the truffle journey begins? Is it a mind journey that takes you to the subconscious? It's difficult for people who have never experienced a psychedelic trip to explain what happens at the peak of the trip, but let's start at the beginning. The beginning is often characterized by various forms of resistance.
The first effects can appear about fifteen minutes after ingestion, and these are usually only physical. Possible negative physical effects during this phase include nausea, dizziness, hot/cold sensations, and tremors. These are physical manifestations of resistance.
Besides the unpleasant bodily sensations, pleasant sensations can also be felt, such as calmness or laughter. Shortly after, visual effects begin to emerge. The first visual effects often involve objects appearing to undulate or vibrate, and shortly after, most people see more colors and depth. By half an hour to forty-five minutes after taking the drug, most people will also increasingly see geometric patterns in everyday objects or with their eyes closed.
About 45-60 minutes after ingestion, it's wise to begin the inner journey. Pretending to take a nap will help you better navigate the truffle journey. This allows the truffles to do their work, while you no longer try to influence the trip yourself. Gradually, you'll reach the peak effects of the truffles, which occur approximately 75-90 minutes after ingestion.
Introspection during peak
If, during the peak of the trip, you let yourself be carried away by the experience, you're taking a journey inward or into the subconscious. Gradually, the random geometric shapes might become a clear image or story. Sometimes, the images remain random, and there's no narrative to them. What often happens, however, is that your sense of self diminishes, and as a result, you feel as if you cease to exist, and you feel connected to something greater than yourself. Time, too, seems to cease to exist.
Going along to the music
At the peak of the trip, you let yourself be swept away by the music. The music acts as a kind of boat you step onto. Then, the boat sails down the river, and you don't have to do a thing yourself; the boat carries you to the places you need to be.
When you completely relinquish control and let the music do the work, it increasingly seems as if you and the music merge into one. It can feel like you are the music and it's all around you, like a surround sound system, only even better. This clearly demonstrates the importance of music, and you can read more about it and its influence on the trip in the posts below.
After the peak phase
Most people aren't completely sober five hours after taking a high dose of truffles, but they're already able to function reasonably normally. You might not be able to drive yet, but walking the dog is fine. During this phase, it's often wise to discuss the trip and explore together what the truffle journey can do for you. Furthermore, most people feel tired about five to six hours after the start of the trip, and it's time to take it easy.
Five hours after the truffles
If you're just coming out of a peak and it's been a spiritual experience, some things might click into place, while others are beyond words. It's wise not to try too hard to understand everything. After the peak, you'll return to sobriety with waves of intensity. This sobering up process can take several hours, and this phase is especially helpful for reflecting on your trip goals.
Truffle trip experiences
The actual experience of a truffle journey varies from person to person, depending on the dosage, and depending on the moment. Some people connect with entities, aliens, gods, deceased loved ones, past lives, or other spiritual experiences. Others may find it easier to connect with themselves, emotions, and memories. The experience is therefore different for everyone, and it's helpful to read about previous experiences. Below, we've listed a few that clearly describe their experiences.
