Opting for private psychedelic therapy
When people want to use psychedelics as therapy, they often choose a one-on-one session or a duo session with partner. It is less common for them to choose a group ceremony like a truffle ceremony, as there is less support and guidance from a therapist per participant there. Read on this page if you are interested in a private session for yourself.
The guidance around a therapeutic truffle session
We can fully tailor the amount of guidance around your truffle session to suit your needs, such as additional talk therapy with your chosen therapist, group integration and microdosing support. By default, per truffle session booked, you get those following included:
-
Personal preparation via intake: Based on the online intake, you will receive tailor-made advice from a lifestyle coach on nutrition, supplements and mental preparation. This forms the basis to start the session both physically and emotionally strong and balanced.
- Preliminary interview with therapist: By default, the chosen therapist contacts you during the week before the actual session to prepare extra well for truffle session. By default, this includes one hour of contact via phone, video call or in person. The therapist may choose to give additional assignments to make the therapy more effective.
-
1-on-1 guidance during the session: You will be personally supervised by your chosen therapist. The psychedelic session lasts up to six hours as standard and can be extended if needed.
-
Use of legal psilocybin truffles: The dosage is determined in consultation and is tailored to your experience, help demand and sensitivity. This can range from a mild psycholytic level to a deep inner journey. The truffles are included, but you may also provide your own psychedelics.
-
Integration interview afterwards: After the session, you will receive personal counselling to process the insights and apply them in your daily life. This conversation usually takes place one or a few days to weeks after the session and is included in the programme. In this, another hour is available to call, video call or meet in person.
Choosing a therapist
Choosing a therapist for your truffle session is an important step in the process at Triptherapie. You get to decide with whom you will embark on this deep inner journey and that offers you the space to choose a counsellor who really suits you.
Within Triptherapie there are several counsellors available, with different backgrounds, expertise and areas of work. If you mainly want to use the session in combination with talk therapy, it is best to choose a counsellor with psychological or therapeutic training, such as Ronald, Gijs, Sascha or Reineke, they all have experience within the mental health sector and additional training in, for example, EMDR and cognitive behavioural therapy. If you prefer to choose a guide with a lot of experience expertise, for example Marcel and Janneke strong choices.
Which counsellor suits you best depends on your personal preferences: do you want male or female, a more spiritual or psychological approach, someone with a gentle energy or rather more structure?
An important piece of advice: feel free to choose based on trust and click. Feeling safe with your therapist is essential for a successful and profound experience.

The location of the session
Our therapists mainly work on location, i.e. at the client's home or in an Airbnb/holiday home. Each has a maximum travel time and therefore a working area. To make it easy, we have a tool below where you can enter a city or town name. This way you can easily see which therapist is available in your area.
